I always recommend new freelance writers find a niche and specialize. It makes life easier when you want to get paid for writing. However, when you’re first starting out, writing websites that pay you consistently will help you get your feet wet, plus pay a few bills.

The sites I am about to introduce you to are some of the best writing websites that pay you and offer the opportunity to land regular work. While I believe all freelance writers should find their own clients outside these websites, you can get a quick start by using one or all of the writing websites below.

Get Paid as a Freelance Writer With these 7 Writing Websites That Pay You Consistently

DISCLAIMER: The websites below don’t offer the highest pay for freelance writers out there, and they get a bad rap for it. However, I know writers using one or multiple of these sites and making a nice income every single month. In fact, one of my first writing students chose to use two of the sites below (ProBlogger and TextBroker) to make more than $5K per month, and it only took her two months to get there.

While some may say the websites below suck, there is plenty of value for the right writer. If you’re looking to start making money from writing websites that pay you consistently, these are the top seven I recommend starting with today!

ProBlogger

My absolute favorite job board and one of the best choices for new freelance writers, ProBlogger offers all types of freelance writing listings from all kinds of companies. Jobs range from blogging to white paper to eBooks, depending on the listing.

Pay Range: Varies by listing

Online Writing Jobs

Any level of experience is welcome at Online Writing Jobs. They are a content creation company and provide work in several areas, such as Automotive, Health, Technology, Medical, Science, Travel, and more! They pay weekly through PayPal.

Pay Range: $15 to $50 per article

Upwork

A well-known freelance website, Upwork offers plenty of writing work, but the pay rates are rather low. If you’re just getting started with freelance writing, Upwork makes it easy to find work, but don’t expect to make a ton of money here.

Pay Range: Varies by Client

TextBroker

You’ll find a good amount of writing work from TextBroker, but you will need to create an account first. The pay, compared to similar sites, is a bit higher and based on a star system. Writing work spans all types of niches.

Pay Range: 7 cents per word to 5 cents per word, depending on the quality
