The Earth Island Journal specifically wants stories that anticipate environmental concerns before they become a big issue. They cover all kinds of environmental issues from land conservation to wildlife to public policy to climate to animal rights.

They accept both articles for their magazine and posts for their online website. Print feature stores will run about 4,000 words, while online stores will be shorter.
